Good morning. Amber is awake and is improving. Her back remains stable and she seems to be doing better after the aorta surgery. This is going to take a while to heal.
Today, they are going to work on her leg. They have her in surgery now, cleaning it out. They may not be able to repair the fracture due to infection in her leg. They will treat that and keep cleaning it until it is clear of infection and they can fix it. It may take a few surgeries to fix it, so this will just be the beginning. They are at least going to get it cleaned up and see what it needs.
We don't know when she will be able to have visitors, but will let you all know just as soon as they give us the okay. She is still in critical care and needs a lot of rest and quiet. Please keep sending your cards and notes. She is such a strong girl and we really appreciate all your support and prayers. Please keep it up. She has a long road ahead and it's great to know she has so many friends cheering her on.
