We received word today that Amber is going to be undergoing surgery to repair her heart tomorrow morning. This is their priority right now. She does not have a collapsed lung as thought earlier. She has a decreased expansion of her lung in one lower portion and this causes less oxygen to enter the lungs. It is a common problem when ribs are broken, so don't worry. They are treating this and it will resolve with time.
She will have her leg repaired at a later time. For now it still has the external device placed by the orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday.
The doctors have said it may be another week or so before they begin to allow visitors. It is IMPERATIVE that no one goes to visit her. A nurse allowed some visitors in today and this only causes other complications with Amber's vitals. PLEASE, do not go to the hospital. This is from her doctors. I assure you that all of the nurses have now been informed and no one outside of immediate family will be allowed in the room.
Amber's family is so touched by all of your support and wishes you could come and see her, but it simply is not in her best interest at this time. She needs quiet and rest, and absolutely no stimulation right now.
Please continue to pray and lift her up. We will let you know how her surgery goes tomorrow, just as soon as we can. Thanks for all the love, prayer and support. We will keep you posted.
Amber- May god heal your body and soul, may your pain cease, may your strength increase, may your fears be released, may your blessings, love and joy surround you! Hang in there. Everyone is pulling for you!!
